WW1 German SG84/98 Bayonet. Gottlieb Hammesfahr/ Bayard Knight.

This bayonet was found recently during a local clearance with the just listed Remington 1913 bayonet, item number-62868. The blade retains its bright finish with a mix of slight staining. Rare complete set, torso and groin steel plate armor as used by Russian soldiers including SHISBr assault engineers. Both plates are in matching condition and are hand painted in a dark grey finish. WW1 British Discharge Paperwork. 5th Battalion RWF. Penmachno North Wales.

Two documents relating to a private David Evans who served with the 5th Battalion RWF from 1915 for 1 year and 255 days until discharged from war service due to no longer being physically fit. Evans was born in the North Wales village of Penmachno near Caernarvon. Both documents where found in his orange Army Form book.  read more

WW1 M1913 Remington Bayonet. American Property Over-Stamps.

Bayonet is in overall good condition with the 1917 dated blade having 100% of its dark grey finish and factory cutting edge with some grease remnants. One side of the blade has the M1913 designation with a date stamp 1917. All documents where found in the back of what appears to be a replacement Pay Book, no surprise if his first issue book was carried from 1914 till 1918 in France, only first page with his details filled. All relates to a Cecil Holland who joined the RH and RFA in London on the date of 1.12.1910 serving till 1922. This might well be an unmarked example, bit of work and you will find the maker, but the condition with its bronze finish is in my opinion just ''super''. Lets say well over 90% complete with the design still retaining sharp detail. The rear has its period hardware set up.  read more
