A very nice ''Q'' production beaded helmet with close to 100% of its blue factory finish. Its been used so please expect the usual scuffs etc, no dents, dings or fractures. Polish WZ.55 Para's Fighting Knife.
Blade has a bright finish with minimal staining mainly from the inside scabbard runners and has been sharpened at one point. clear stamps to both sides near the top under the cross guard. Brown Political RZM Marked Leather Cross Strap.
The leather is in supple condition without weak points. The silver metal parts have taken on a lots of patina from storage, both clips in fine working condition. Found at one end clip is the period ''D'' ring for the belt. New to the market is this group of postcards sent home from Europe during WW1 and the soldiers pay book. Private W.H.Williams, No17768's book as usual with WW1 examples contains limited info but its clear the soldier was 38 when he joined in 1914 having served previously with the 4th Battalion Gloucester's from 1893. Luftschutz Used Czechoslovakian VZ 32/34 Helmet Shell.
This semi relic helmet shell was first used by the Czech army in 1936, inside ink stamp has makers details and a 36 date to the inside. The helmet was then reissued after occupation and used by the German Luftschutz with the addition of there flat grey finish added over the original Czech factory finish. WW1 Imperial German Belt and Buckle.
Steel buckle has sharp detail to the central plate and close to 50% of the grey finish intact. The rear has close to 80% finish and both retaining prongs and belt catch. The belt leather is supple with just a slight stretch near the buckle end from continuous use, taking on and off. WW1 Cardiff Veteran WW2 Service Paybook and Documents, Welch Regiment, RA. Africa and Italy.
Small group that has recently surfaced from Cardiff relating to a WW1 RA veteran who was called up from Territorial service in 1939 and served through Africa and into Italy.
