Swiss Schmidt-Rubin 1889 Bayonet.
This would appear to be an untouched example still held in its leather frog. The blade has a dark finish from patina with an un-sharpened cutting edge, full tip and a clear makers stamp. The cross guard and pommel has the same dark finish with a working fixing button and stamped numbers to the guard. Both wooden grips plates are clean and without chips or bruising. Nice to find a set that have always been together with a 1943 dated Canadian manufactured scabbard holding a 1940 dated US manufactured machete. M1917 Bayonet Fighting Knife Conversion.
The bayonet was a WW1 Remington 1917 bayonet with the blade professionally ground into a sharp tipped fighting blade. The top rifle fixing ring has again been ground off and interestingly the grips have been replaced by two nice 1907 pattern bayonet grips. Late war version thats in pretty good condition with no holes or tugs to the material and tight stitching. Overall color to the material is strong but has some slight marking from storage. 1939 Dated MK2 Factory Helmet. Player's Tobacco.
The 1938 dated shell and 1939 dated liner first left the factory as an early army helmet, the first coat of early brown military finish can be seen in ares of damage to the outside and the inner area under the liner.
