Victorian IGS medal with 3 Clasps including Hazara 1891. Cardiff?
An interesting medal to a gunner in the 1st Battery, 1st Brigade, Eastern Division of the Royal artillery who served in Burma during campaigns from 1885 till 1889. Gunner Page also served during the Hazara campaign, Black mountain expedition. I know nothing more on Page and neither did the local family members who brought this medal into me for sale. What I do know is the harsh gruelling experience these artillery men went through campaigning a through Burma and engaging the enemy where found. Now as for condition., medal has been polished but not overly, check photos dor details folks, period ribbon has some polish residue and I do like the top fixing pin where this veteran could proudly wear his well earned medal.
Details around the rim... 55306 Gun. A. Page. No1 Br, 1st Bde, E Div. RA. Just noticed that a Clasps have been period repaired with wire. That's an interesting note as I bought two Victorian medals this week from two different families, both having wire clasp repairs!!
