WW2 British MK2 ''DC''Steel Helmet. Decontamination Leader.

Shell only folks but an interesting one at that. This helmet is dated 1938 starting out issued to the British army with brown smooth finish, used after Dunkirk reissued to supply Home front civil defence units. This early brown finish, seen to the inside, was later painted army green with the addition of the first stenciled yellow ''DC'' letters and later on with the last coat of white with the addition of black ''DC'' letters. White would denoted use by a leader. An interesting oddity for sure!
