WW2 Welch Regiment Officers Visor Cap.
This ''soft'' manufactured example is in well used condition recently found in the loft of a local Cardiff house during a clearance, please check item 62724 for the helmet also found laying next the the cap. Cap material has some staining with lots of patina and only around six small moth nips to the outer, does not detract from the appearance. There are two metal vents to each side and two to the rear, chinstrap is complete and supple. Both side buttons are officers type with the sharp detailed Welch Regiment bronze badge held on by one back prong and two areas of thread held around the top of both scrolls. This badge is its period example looking at the back material where plenty of nap can be found and areas of damage from the sharp corners. The inside has its leather sweat band with makers details, loose section of sewing to one side only and a rip to the brow area. The inside top material is complete with a very clear WOODROW, top quality maker of military headgear to all Allied forces, makers diamond. I must add as seen in the photos the underneath of the peak has a certain amount of moth damage. Want an untouched example that will still display well and in a nice medium size then this one would work well.
