Luftwaffe M40 Combat Helmet. ET64. NO PAYPAL PAYMENTS PLEASE.

The shell retains well over 95% of its period factory finish with just some slight spotting from storage peaking through over the shell. One liner pin has all its finish with the other two having wear. All three pins are factory tight and unmolested. The side has the remains of a first pattern Luftwaffe Adler showing a good amount of wear, more to come on the decal at the end of the description. The period installed M40 type liner with steel band is supple with what i would call moderate use with some staining and wear to the edge. Two of the rear tongues have some rodent damage including a couple of nips to the leather body. The leather chinstrap is in nice supple condition with no damage and a steel buckle with most of its factory grey finish, no markings or date but in my opinion this is the helmets period chinstrap and not replaced. Shell has a clear ET64 stamp to the side with a Lot number 840 to the rear. I purchased this helmet many years ago from a chap who stated his relative brought this helmet home from Norway, found in an abandoned Airfield. The decal in my opinion is period and a type found for sale commercially and not factory applied. Norway is know for many anomalies when it comes to German helmets, this decal application might well be such. Anyway what your buying is a very nice Lufty helmet with nearly all its finish, tight unmessed liner pins, period liner and chinstrap. If like me you can see a period applied decal then your winning even more.
